Historic Downtown Building Restoration Programs

Façade Grant Program

The purpose of the Façade Grant program is to provide business and non-residential property owners an economic incentive to renovate the exterior façades of buildings located in the City of Thomasville Business Incentives District (as adopted by the City Council on the 21st of January 2014). The program encourages good design projects, which complement the unique historic character of the building while also introducing compatible new design. Façade improvements that can be covered by the grant include awnings, signage, painting, windows and general improvements to the front or street side view of the building

Eligibility
Any owner or tenant of a building located within City of Thomasville Business Incentives District is eligible. Owners and tenants may request Façade Grants separately; however, only one grant may be awarded per property.

PACE is not accepting any applications for the façade grant program. We hope to continue this program in 2023. To stay abreast of news regarding our facade grant program, please subscribe to our newsletter.

Historic Building Restoration Project

Numerous buildings in the Historic Downtown Thomasville district require attention. The availability of these buildings and the cooperation of their owners leaves this endeavor unpredictable.  PACE has come full circle and the group’s patience and persistence was rewarded in 2014 with the first buildings donated by the late Bob Callicutt, an owner they had first approached over 20 years ago.  The completed salvaging of the buildings on 9 Salem Street and 6 Main Street has profoundly contributed to the recent spirit of restoration, renovation and creative businesses popping up in the last few years. PACE  will continue to engage in vigorous fundraising for more restoration projects.

Join us for our Annual Farm to Table event. For 2021, we will be hosting a Shrimp Boil this fall. All proceeds will go towards our Downtown Revitalization initiatives.
